
A study listed out more than sixty-five complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) for controlling depression.
According to 2002 National Health Interview Survey, 81.7 per cent of adults with self-reported anxiety or depression used CAM last year in comparison with 64.6 per cent of non-anxious or depressed people in the same category.
CAM includes use of spiritual practices, prayers, relaxation techniques, and use of non-vitamin, non-mineral natural products.
The researchers of Wake Forest University School of Medicine have conducted the study on the people using CAM, The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine has published the findings.
There are no differences, showed in the findings, among any kind of race or ethnic groups in the use of CAM for poor mental health.
