Is your teen son or daughter suffering from epilepsy? Then be aware that they are much more prone to depression and other psychiatric problems! They often face a double whammy because they face depression along with the seizure disorder.
According to a new study in the March issue of the journal Neurology, up to 60 percent of all teens with epilepsy will experience depression or another psychiatric illness! And the worse part is; only about 33 percent of those teens will receive treatment, according to the study. And that lack of treatment may put epilepsy teens at a higher risk for suicide as well!
