Depression may lead to heart disease is a previous conception but here is a new one that heart surgery may lead to depression.



The Journal of the American Medical Association has published a report that reveals the connection of cardiac surgery to depression.



Dr. Mary A. Whooley has disclosed that twenty percent people having coronary heart disease also suffer from a major depressive disorder. However, this is not confirmed that treating depression may improve heart problems or not the anti depression drugs improves the life easing depression.



Dr. Michael Fiocco, of Baltimore’s Union Memorial Hospital quoted that almost fifty percent of the cardiac patients show the tendency to develop depression after surgery.



The use of heart and lung machines may stimulate and increase the depression attitude. Because it may say that the balanced blood pressure provided by the machine lacks the vibration and beating of a real pulse. The medication process may slow down the energy level in patients.
