It is after innovative computer programs were recommended for use in therapy, people suffering from depression and anxiety could get faster treatment. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) has approved two software packages that use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
It is called ‘Beating the Blues’ - the computer program to which GPs now have the option of referring patients who are suffering with mild and moderate depression. The other software is named ‘Fear Fighter’. And this is meant for those suffering from panic and phobia.
