Children who show early signs of depression are more likely to move to drinking habit, a new study has come up with this finding after studying about 1119 children who never drank alcohol before the beginning of this study.
But as the time moved on some of these children started drinking alcohol and finally researchers concluded that whereas the percentage of drinking children with fewer depressive symptoms was just 4.1., the percentage of drinking children with higher depressive symptoms reached 14.1. This clearly shows that children with symptoms of depression are more likely to move to drinking, if compared with the children with no depression symptoms.
This finding is really interesting but I think researchers must go deeper into the whole concept in order to come up with conclusions that are more concrete.

i actually believe that drinking alcohol and depression has something to do with mainstream media... when we look at movies of people who have problems, what do they usually do?... they drink! teens who’re looking for a solution to their depression may want to try drinking to relieve the depression and end up drinking in the process...
Yea,Star, I agree with you that children drinking is also stirred up by media.
That’s why kids watching TV should and must be guided by parents.
