The charity APRIL (Adverse Psychiatric Reactions Information Link) in UK raised doubts about the side effects of the contraceptive pills, Dianette. This pill is used to treat bad skin and it may link to side effect as depression. It is now being reviewed by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA).
100 women have reported serious depression while on drug. Dianette is an efficient contraceptive which is certified as a hormone treatment for severe acne. Depression is a known poor effect of Dianette, stated on its labeling.
Schering UK, its manufacturer, says that Dianette is causing relentless depression and this is a reason for stopping Dianette immediately.

i have been on dianette for 2 months now and towards the end of the second month i noticed i was constantly shoutin at my boyfriend for no reason at all and kept burstin into tears for no reason also! i looked into dianette and realised it wasnt just me and have decided to stop taking them at once! i have been off them a week now and feel back to my normal self and so much happier. although i do think that this depression should be made more clear to the user, because if i had of known i would not of go on it.
It’s the same with every contraceptive pill, & it make sense - you’re taking a drug to mess with your normones, occasionally it doesn’t work out for you. A lot of women find they have to change their pill 2 or 3 times before they find one that suits them, & the warning’s in the massive booklet of information you get with them.
